Accounting Manager

Albany, NY (On-site) We are recruiting on behalf of a well-known client of ours, a growing construction and security integration company in the Albany area, that is looking to add an experienced accounting manager to their team. The Role As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day accounting operations of the business, ensuring accurate financial reporting, efficient processes, and strong financial visibility for leadership. This is a hands‑on role where you will manage the full accounting cycle, including month‑end close, job costing, and payables/receivables, while also supporting payroll, compliance, and financial reporting. You will work closely with leadership, operations, and external advisors to keep the financial side of the business running smoothly and efficiently. This position is ideal for someone who is detail‑oriented, comfortable working independently, and motivated to take ownership while continually improving processes as the company grows. What We're Looking For 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience Experience in construction, contracting, or job‑costing environments preferred Strong understanding of full‑cycle accounting, including month‑end close and reconciliations Experience managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes Experience working with multiple systems (accounting, job costing, CRM) Familiarity with job costing, including labor, materials, and project‑based tracking Experience supporting payroll and commission calculations Knowledge of sales tax, payroll tax, and general compliance requirements Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities Highly organized with strong attention to detail Strong Excel skills required Additional Details Candidates should be local to the Albany area and able to work on‑site as part of a collaborative team environment.
