Responsibilities

• Draw quality blood samples from patients across various age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
• Verify patient demographic information and confirm specimen labels in the presence of patients to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain a safe and professional environment, adhering to established safety and infection control procedures.
• Perform specimen collection and processing following established practices and procedures.
• Maintain required records and documentation accurately and timely.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly and compassionately with patients, peers, and supervisors.
• Perform duties independently and with confidence, often working across multiple locations as needed.
• Assist in promoting a positive image and organizational commitment through professional conduct.

Required Skills

• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in specimen labeling and data entry.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with patients and team members.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections, required.
• Experience working in a Patient Service Center environment is highly preferred.
• Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime, to cover multiple locations.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and a clean driving record if applicable.
• Keyboard and data entry skills to support accurate documentation.
