Role Description
Brookhaven National Laboratory is seeking a highly-skilled technical and strategic leader for the Applications and Software Engineering department within the Information Technology Division (ITD). This individual will focus on leading the organization’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) modernization efforts.
- Construct and deliver a prioritized modernization plan with business partners.
- Balance investment opportunities, operational efficiency, and business outcomes.
- Strong technical background in enterprise financial systems and project/program management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align the application portfolio with business needs.
- Build and manage strategic vendor relationships to maintain a stable application portfolio.
- Adopt and utilize modern cloud-based ERP-related services and platforms.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science, information systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience on a basis of 2:1).
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Extensive experience and in-depth knowledge with ERP or other business-critical applications.
- Five years or more in a leadership role managing a team of software development professionals.
- Ability to use strategic planning to translate business goals into technology solutions.
- Strong project management skills.
- Demonstrated success in vendor and stakeholder management.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

- Build strong working relationships with Laboratory partners.
- Oversee the management of the enterprise applications portfolio.
- Safeguard the reliability, availability, and performance of enterprise applications.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and partners.
- Work with internal governance and cybersecurity teams for compliance.
- Develop and manage the budget for enterprise applications.
