Handling high-net-worth divorce, complex equitable distribution, and sensitive child custody matters, this position provides direct client engagement, extensive litigation responsibility, and strategic trial experience alongside leading family law practitioners. Key Responsibilities Case Advocacy: Lead domestic relations cases from initial client consultation through litigation, mediation, and trial. Legal Drafting: Prepare comprehensive pleadings, motions, separation agreements, premarital contracts, equitable distribution affidavits, and financial discovery requests. Courtroom Representation: Represent clients in state District Courts for temporary hearings, domestic violence protective orders, custody disputes, and bench trials. Negotiation & ADR: Conduct strategic settlement negotiations, judicial conferences, and private mediations to achieve client objectives efficiently. Discovery Management: Oversee complex financial discovery, subpoena issuance, bank record tracings, and deposition preparations for marital property valuations. Qualifications & Skills Experience: 3 to 5 years of dedicated family law and domestic litigation experience within a private firm setting. Licensure: Active and unblemished license to practice law from the North Carolina State Bar. Courtroom Readiness: Proven record of conducting hearings, bench trials, and oral arguments in North Carolina courts.
