Job Description Full job description Guirguis Law, P.A. is a faith-based practice law firm that serves the whole person, not just the legal problem. Our firm is currently seeking a Family Law attorney to join our multicultural team. We are looking for a sharp Family attorney who will zealously represent our clients in all areas of family law. You’ll assist individuals in a variety of situations such as navigating prenuptial agreements and attending court hearings for divorce, alimony/spousal support, and child support. The prime candidate will have experience with a range of sensitive legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence, and be able to maintain composure, negotiate, and argue effectively even in emotional and high-stress situations. Responsibilities Represent clients in court proceedings as needed Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of action Create legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments and orders for a high volume of cases Communicate with other attorneys and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process Qualifications 4-year degree with a legal background Must have worked on family law issues for at least 3-5 years Ability to successfully represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of a case Active member of the ABA (American Bar Association) Previous criminal justice or other legal background preferred Dependable and detail oriented is a must 4-8 years of family law experience preferred Management and litigation of family law cases, including child custody, support, contempt, and equitable distribution Drafting and filing of legal pleadings Discovery Meeting with clients Litigation experience required Duly licensed to practice law in North Carolina Benefits Paid time off Paid holidays when the office is closed Simple IRA Medical insurance Compensation: Based on experience #J-18808-Ljbffr Guirguis Law PA
