About the Opportunity:As a Quality Engineer I, you will provide support to operational and development programs to enable and deliver zero defect projects utilizing engineering and problem-solving skills.This role also supports the development and implementation of quality processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. As Quality Engineer I you will also assist with inspections, testing, non-conformance management, and documentation.Location: Onsite: Whitesboro, NY Responsibilities: * Support writing procedure, collecting and analyzing data. * Support in implementing and maintaining the quality management system. (AS9100, AS13100, NADCAP) * Support the inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards. * Utilize Quality Engineering tools like PFMEA, Measurement System Analysis, and Control Plans to monitor and improve internal processes. * Work with cross-functional teams to identify the root causes of quality issues and assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). * Assist in evaluating supplier performance and quality, supporting supplier audits, and assisting with the development of quality improvement plans. * Work closely with production, engineering, and other departments to resolve quality issues and improve overall product quality. * Participate in continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen, LEAN, etc. * Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system and customer requirements. * Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering, Material Science or Metallurgy * Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis. * Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations. Preferred Qualifications: * At least 1 year of quality engineering experience * Aerospace experience. * Understanding of quality principles and methodologies. * Experience and training in quality systems including AS9100 and NADCAP * Proficiency in quality management systems, process validation, and customer specifications. * Experience working with CAD, QMS and ERP software. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to guide junior team members effectively. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate across teams and with customers.Working Conditions * Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. * Must be able to frequently sit stand and walk. * Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds. * Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor * Occasional weekend and evening work
