Registered Nurse - PACU

Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse

Provides specialized nursing care to patients recovering from surgery in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). Oversees patient monitoring, assessment, and recovery management, ensuring safety and comfort while collaborating with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' vital signs and clinical status continuously during recovery.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans for postoperative patients.
• Administer medications and interventions as prescribed to manage pain and discomfort.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and team members to ensure seamless patient recovery.
• Educate patients and families on post-discharge care and recovery procedures.
• Document patient progress and interventions accurately in the electronic health record.

Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state.
• Minimum of two years recent PACU or perioperative nursing experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ACLS or PALS certification as required by facility policy.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills.
