Job Description
The Sheet Metal Mechanic plays a critical role in the installation and fabrication of sheet metal ductwork, working within a large team under the guidance of a direct supervisor. This role focuses on layouts, hanging, and blueprint reading to ensure quality and safety compliance, without the requirement for travel. Responsibilities
- Install sheet metal ductwork according to project specifications
- Cut sheet metal accurately using appropriate tools and techniques
- Measure materials precisely to meet blueprint requirements
- Read and interpret blueprints to guide fabrication and installation
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in sheet metal mechanics
- Technical diploma or certification in sheet metal work or mechanical technology
- OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications
- Proficient in sheet metal fabrication and blueprint reading
- Skilled in metal cutting, measurement, and layout
- Strong emphasis on tool operation and safety compliance
