Key Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar educational support role, especially within a school setting
• Must satisfy all Rhode Island Department of Education requirements needed to work as a paraprofessional
• Comfortable assisting with toileting and diaper changes as needed in a nurturing, respectful manner
• Strong teamwork skills—experience collaborating with other teaching assistants or educators is highly valued
• Compassion, patience, and adaptability when engaging with students who have diverse needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Support classroom instruction and foster a positive learning atmosphere for approximately 11 students, in concert with a dedicated team of six other rotating teaching assistants
• Provide individualized and small-group support, facilitating academic and social development
• Assist students with personal and hygiene care as needed to ensure comfort and dignity
• Contribute to classroom management and consistent routines, helping to create a safe and inclusive environment
• Communicate regularly with teachers, specialists, and team members to ensure seamless support for each student
