Medical Billing Manager for AI Evaluation

Lead and manage end-to-end medical billing and claims submission operations while evaluating AI-generated billing outputs for accuracy and payer compliance. This role combines hands-on revenue cycle leadership with structured review and annotation of AI outputs to improve first-pass claim acceptance rates and overall revenue cycle performance.

• Oversee complete medical billing and claims submission workflows for professional fee and/or facility billing environments.
• Review and evaluate AI-generated billing entries, claim edits, and coding validations for clinical and payer accuracy.
• Manage electronic claim generation processes, clearinghouse edits, and payer-specific submission requirements.
• Monitor and report on clean claim rates, rejection rates, and first-pass acceptance rates, and develop strategies to improve those metrics.
• Coordinate with coding, clinical documentation improvement, and collections teams to resolve billing edits and claim denials or rejections.
• Ensure compliance with CMS billing guidelines, HIPAA 837 transaction standards, and payer-specific billing rules.
• Supervise billing staff, including workload distribution, productivity monitoring, and quality performance metrics.
• Create and maintain billing standard operating procedures and payer-specific billing reference guides.
• Annotate AI outputs and provide structured, actionable feedback to support AI training datasets.

Required

• Minimum 5 years of experience in medical billing and claims management, including at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.
• Deep knowledge of professional fee billing (CMS-1500 / 837P) and/or facility billing (UB-04 / 837I) requirements.
• Expertise in HIPAA 837 transaction standards, clearinghouse operations, and payer-specific billing rules.
• Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer billing requirements.
• Proficiency with billing platforms such as Epic, Athenahealth, AdvancedMD, or equivalent, and familiarity with clearinghouse tools.
• Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.
• High attention to detail, with the ability to identify billing errors and compliance issues in AI-generated outputs.

Preferred

• CPC, CCS, CHFP, or CRCR certification.
• Experience implementing automated billing platforms and revenue cycle management technologies.
• Background managing billing operations for multi-speciality physician groups, hospitals, or health systems.
• Familiarity with AI tools and prior experience evaluating or validating AI-generated billing content.
• Experience interpreting payer contracts and managing billing compliance programs.
