Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT) in Illinois.
• Successful completion of a PT program from an accredited institution.
• Previous school-based PT experience or pediatric clinical background is highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of IEP process and experience contributing to multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication skills to engage with students, educators, and families.
• Adaptability and creativity to tailor interventions to individual student needs.

Core Responsibilities:

• Assess motor development and functional skills of students to develop customized therapy plans.
• Deliver direct PT services within the school setting, assisting students with improving mobility, coordination, and independence.
• Collaborate with teachers and other school professionals to integrate therapy goals into classroom routines.
• Participate in IEP meetings, provide progress updates, and recommend modifications or equipment as appropriate.
• Maintain meticulous documentation according to school and state guidelines.
• Provide education to staff and families to maximize student outcomes and promote generalization of skills.
