Mechanical Assembler II

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Mechanical Assembler to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the hands-on assembly and testing of enclosed drive gearboxes and subassemblies. Day-to-day work includes reading blueprints, using precision measuring instruments, logging production data, troubleshooting assembly issues, and collaborating with Purchasing, Quality, and Engineering teams.

What We're Looking For Must Have:

• Minimum 1 year of mechanical assembly experience (industrial machinery or related manufacturing)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to read assembly blueprints in English
• Material handling experience
• Immediate availability upon selection

A Plus:

• Forklift operation experience (preferred, not required)
• Familiarity with material traceability or batch production
• Background in shop safety or quality assurance

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform gearbox assembly, subassembly, and functional testing
• Read and interpret blueprints; use calipers and measuring instruments to verify dimensions
• Record dimensions and production details accurately in production logs
• Troubleshoot assembly and test errors; coordinate with cross-functional teams for resolution
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and properly care for tools and equipment
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within assembly and testing areas
• Comply with all company, HSE, and facility-specific safety policies and product standards
• Perform additional tasks as assigned

Additional Requirements

• Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed
• Comfortable working in a factory environment with temperature variation
• Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push/pull, and perform repetitive movements for up to 12 hours
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Willingness to cross-train and adapt as needed
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
