Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, utilizing orthopedic knowledge and clinical skills to develop tailored treatment plans that align with individual recovery goals.
• Implement a variety of orthopedic physical therapy techniques, including manual therapy, exercise prescription, and modalities to alleviate pain and restore function.
• Supervise and mentor physical therapist assistants and rehabilitation technicians, reinforcing best practices in patient care and ensuring compliance with professional standards.
• Document patient progress meticulously, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize recovery outcomes and maintain accurate records for ongoing care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and refer patients to other healthcare providers when needed, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
• Contribute to the development of departmental protocols and participate in quality improvement initiatives that enhance rehabilitation service efficiency.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily serve an orthopedic patient demographic that includes adolescents, adults, and senior citizens. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting patients recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, or chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Some specialized positions may require experience in pediatric therapy, allowing you to cater to the unique needs of younger patients.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree or higher in physical therapy from an accredited program.
• Active and valid state licensure or certification to practice physical therapy in New Jersey.
• At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in orthopedic physical therapy is required.
• Excellent assessment, evaluation, and treatment planning skills specific to orthopedic conditions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills that facilitate effective engagement with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in an outpatient rehabilitation setting is highly desirable.
