Step into an impactful teaching role shaping the educational journey of 8th-grade students as a dedicated Math educator for a middle school near Gurnee, IL. This full-time, onsite contract position runs from August 17 through May 27, 2027, with responsibilities focused on delivering engaging and effective Math instruction tailored specifically to Grade 8 learners.

There are two openings available: one for a general 8th Grade Math teacher and another for someone who can deliver math instruction in both English and a second language (dual language expertise).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with applicable Math endorsement(s).
• Experience in curriculum design, lesson planning, and classroom instruction within middle grades.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and support diverse learners.
• Specific endorsement and subject expertise in Math; applicants are encouraged to note dual language qualifications, if applicable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement standards-based math lessons that engage and challenge 8th-grade students.
• Create a welcoming, supportive classroom environment conducive to active learning.
• Assess, monitor, and document student progress.
• Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and students in both individual and group settings.
• Participate in ongoing professional development.
• For the dual language position: Deliver math instruction in both English and a second language.
