Kennedy-King College is currently seeking a Full-Time Faculty(Tenure Track) to teach Automotive Technology. The ideal candidatewill have demonstrated success in the classroom by developing andusing effective teaching strategies that meet students’ diverseneeds and engage the student in critical thinking andproblem-solving. We are looking for a dynamic and experiencedAutomotive Technology Instructor to help prepare our students forlife changing careers. You will plan, prepare, and deliver qualityclassroom instruction in lecture and/or laboratory formats, basedon the approved curricula, and assist in the resolution of studentissues, when required.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

You must demonstrate excellence in teaching, commitment tointegrating new technologies in the learning process and theability to inspire, motivate and empower students to succeed. You are required to post your syllabi on Learning ManagementSystem (Brightspace) and to enter your final grades online inPeopleSoft. Facilitation of Learning. Plan, prepare and deliver instructionand facilitate the learning of students. Curriculum Implementation. Revise, and continually updatecurriculum and instructional materials which are competency-based,current, consistent with employer expectations, and aligned withthe automotive industry and ASE certification. Classroom Management. Fulfill assigned schedule, maintainaccurate student attendance and grade records, maintaininstructional environment with emphasis on safety, housekeeping,and equipment security, and ensure opportunities forstudent/participant evaluation. Business/Industry/Community Linkages. Develop and delivercustomized training for various clients as needed and maintaininvolvement with business/industry/community through advisorycommittees, marketing and recruitment efforts, and professionalassociations and organizations. Advise and support students as a mentor and role model in theachievement of their learning and career goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate degree in automotive technology require. Bachelordegree in automotive technology strongly preferred. Must have G1, A2, A3, and A6, certification from the NationalInstitute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). Three to four years of teaching experience in the field. Strong knowledge of intricate automotive systems. Demonstrated ability to work skillfully with highly technicaldiagnostic equipment, including Scan Tools, Lab Scopes, DVOMs, AirConditioning Recycling Equipment, Vibration Diagnostic Equipment,etc. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Familiarity with SMART Board Technology and learning managementplatforms i.e., Brightspace, preferred.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

The salary range for this position is $58,000 -$65,000. Offered salary will be determined by the respective collectivebargaining agreement and applicant's education.
