Junior AccountantLocation: Danbury, CT Compensation: $50,000 – $55,000About The OpportunityOur client is looking for a Junior Accountant to join their accounting team in Danbury, CT. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who wants to gain hands-on experience across a variety of accounting functions while working alongside an experienced finance team.The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting, excellent attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with day-to-day accounting activities and general ledger maintenancePrepare journal entries and account reconciliationsSupport month-end and year-end close processesAssist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functionsResearch and resolve discrepancies as neededAssist with financial reporting and maintaining accurate accounting recordsPrepare supporting documentation for audits and reportingAssist with special projects and process improvementsEnsure accounting activities are completed accurately and in a timely mannerQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting required1+ year of accounting experience; internship experience will be consideredUnderstanding of general accounting principlesExperience with journal entries and account reconciliationsProficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting softwareStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to prioritize tasks and meet deadlinesStrong communication skills and a team-oriented mindsetEager to learn and grow within an accounting environment
