The Opportunity

The

Senior Manager, Portfolio Management

is a core member of Cruxs Investments team, reporting to the Portfolio Management Principal. This is a newly created role within a newly established Portfolio Management function designed to build out and lead the firms portfolio management capabilities for renewable energy tax equity investments.
The Senior Manager will support all aspects of investment management post-close, including funding mechanics, performance monitoring, and ongoing sponsor and investor interactions. The role requires both technical expertise in renewable energy project finance and the ability to design scalable systems for portfolio oversight.
This position will be instrumental in building portfolio management infrastructure from the ground up, including establishing processes, workflows, and reporting frameworks that can scale with Cruxs growing investment portfolio.
Candidates should be comfortable working across teams, adopting new tools and AI-enabled workflows, and engaging directly with sponsors, investors, and internal stakeholders when required.
What youll do

Help design and scale Crux’s portfolio management framework for tax equity and preferred equity investments.
Partner with Principals, Finance, Legal, and external counterparties on portfolio tranching, funding schedules, and post-closing execution.
Monitor portfolio performance against underwriting across financial, tax, and operational metrics; identify and escalate risks and variances.
Execute consent requests, amendments, and restructurings with internal and external stakeholders.
Prepare and support investor, management, and board reporting, ensuring alignment with institutional and contractual requirements.
Support Principal with ongoing sponsor and investor interactions post-closing. Ensure smooth transition from execution to portfolio management.
Build and enhance portfolio monitoring, reporting, and workflow systems using technology and AI-enabled tools.
Contribute to strategic discussions on portfolio optimization, including potential exits and secondary market opportunities.
Ensure compliance with partnership agreements, regulatory requirements, and internal policies in coordination with Legal and Finance.
Support the development of best practices and playbooks for portfolio management activities to ensure consistency and efficiency as the portfolio scales.
What you bring

Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Environmental Studies or a related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
5+ years of experience in renewable energy finance, asset management, or structured finance, with direct exposure to tax equity and/or preferred equity.
Strong knowledge of partnership flip and preferred equity structures, funding mechanics, and tax compliance.
Experience managing portfolios of complex investments, including amendments, restructurings, and consent processes.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple complex workstreams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including board-level reporting and sponsor/investor engagement.
Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Python, or similar) and comfort working with portfolio management systems, databases, and business intelligence platforms.
Comfort leveraging technology and AI-enabled tools to improve monitoring, reporting, and workflows.
FINRA license(s) Series 79 and 63 required or willingness to obtain within 90 days under Cruxs broker-dealer sponsorship.
Experience with institutional investors (insurance companies, pension funds, family offices) is highly valued.

Compensation
Total cash compensation: $200,000s-$300,000s, depending on years of exp. & revenue scope, not inclusive of equity value.
Opportunity to exceed bonus targets based on team and individual performance.
