RN Emergency Department

Job Summary:

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse at the Level III Trauma Center in Zanesville provides skilled nursing care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The RN is responsible for patient assessment, emergency interventions, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to deliver quality care in the emergency setting. This role requires strong clinical expertise, proficiency with Epic EMR, and at least 3 years of recent emergency department experience. Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and deliver emergency nursing care in the ED.
• Manage trauma and medical emergencies in a Level III Trauma Center setting.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR system.
• Participate in holiday rotations and weekend staffing as scheduled.
• Maintain competency in emergency nursing protocols and procedures.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license.
• Minimum of 3 years current/recent Emergency Department nursing experience or completion of 3 ED assignments.
• BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications.
• Proficiency with Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification.

Special Considerations:

• Work at a busy Level III Trauma Center ED with 38 beds and trauma bays.
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required.
• Requests for excessive time off around holidays are not approved.
• On-call duties are rare and not generally expected.

Scheduling:

• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week.
• Schedule includes every other weekend and holiday coverage.
