RN Emergency Department

Job Summary:

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) at a Level III Trauma Center in Zanesville is responsible for providing expert nursing care in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency setting. This role involves patient assessment, treatment, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to deliver timely and effective emergency care. The RN must have a minimum of three years of recent ED experience and proficiency with Epic EMR. The position requires strong clinical skills, certification in BLS, PALS, and ACLS, and the ability to work collaboratively in a busy emergency department environment. Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and deliver emergency nursing care in accordance with clinical protocols.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians and according to nursing standards.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities using Epic EMR.
• Manage trauma and emergency cases in a 38-bed ED with two trauma bays.
• Participate in holiday rotations and work every other weekend as scheduled.
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements for emergency care.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Ohio.
• Minimum of 3 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience or completion of at least 3 ED assignments.
• Proficiency with Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification.
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) certification.

Special Considerations:

• Work is based at a Level III Trauma Center emergency department.
• Taking call is not expected and should be a rare request.
• Requests for excessive time off around holidays will not be approved.

Scheduling:

• 36 hours per week, day shift from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• Every other weekend required.
• Holiday rotation participation required.
