Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Laurel, MD

Salary: $55,000-$65,000

A growing construction company is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join its accounting team. This role will be responsible for processing high-volume vendor invoices, reviewing subcontractor payments, reconciling vendor accounts, and ensuring timely and accurate payment processing. The ideal candidate will have prior AP experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Process and code vendor and subcontractor invoices
• Review invoices for accuracy and proper approvals
• Prepare weekly check runs and electronic payments
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with month-end close and AP reporting
• Maintain organized vendor records and documentation

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience
• Construction industry experience preferred
• Strong Excel and accounting software skills
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
