As a Senior iOS Engineer at Via, you'll be a core member of the rider mobile team, owning the iOS experience that millions of riders depend on every day - from booking rides and managing accounts to the underlying mobile infrastructure that makes it all work seamlessly. You'll work on a product that has real, tangible impact on how people move through their cities, collaborating closely with designers, backend engineers, and product managers who care deeply about the quality of what they ship. What You'll Do:

• Collaborate closely with designers, backend engineers, and product managers in order to deliver our high-quality, user-friendly rider application.
• Own the development and continuous improvement of Via's rider iOS app - building new features across booking, account management, and the core rider journey while keeping the experience fast, reliable, and intuitive
• Architect and evolve the mobile infrastructure services that power Via's apps, making thoughtful decisions about app architecture patterns, performance optimization, and memory management that the whole team benefits from
• Diagnose and resolve critical production issues under pressure, minimizing disruption to riders and acting as a key line of defence when things go wrong in live environments
• Mentor and guide engineers on the team - sharing your expertise in iOS development, reviewing code thoughtfully, and helping others grow

Who You Are:

• 5+ years of hands-on iOS development experience, with deep proficiency in Swift and strong knowledge of the iOS application lifecycle
• Strong grasp of iOS app architecture patterns, SwiftUI and UIKit, and RESTful APIs. Expertise in performance optimization, memory management, and debugging complex issues.
• Knowledge of concurrent programming using async-await, GCD (Grand Central Dispatch) or Operation Queues to handle background tasks and async operations efficiently.
• Experienced with iOS frameworks such as Core Location, MapKit, and familiar with third-party mapping tools such as Google Maps and Mapbox
• A natural collaborator and mentor - you take ownership of your work, share knowledge generously, and make the engineers around you better
• Proactive and genuinely curious about new technologies - you don't wait to be told what to improve, and you bring energy and ideas to the team

Compensation and Benefits

• Final salary will be determined by the candidate's experience, knowledge, and skills. Salary reflected does not include equity or variable pay, where applicable
• Salary Range: $160,000 - $200,000
