Law Firm Staff Accountant

Job description: Prepare and analyze financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, general ledger, attorney hours)Oversee billing operations and supervise billing team to ensure timely processingManage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor invoices and client paymentsReconcile multiple escrow and operating accounts in QuickBooksSupport monthly, quarterly, and annual close processesAdvise attorneys and staff on timekeeping and billing practicesPartner with leadership by delivering financial insights for decision-makingCoordinate bonus/billing data with payroll and senior management Qualifications: Bachelors degree in accounting (or related field) 5+ years of accounting experience in an insurance defense firmStrong proficiency in QuickBooks, Clio Manage, and Microsoft OfficeSolid understanding of GAAPProven ability to manage teams and work in a fast-paced environmentDetail-oriented, organized, and proactive Why is This a Great Opportunity: Our client, a well-established NYC insurance defense firm, is seeking an experienced Accounting & Bookkeeping Associate to join their team.
