About the Role

This includes leading a team to create and disseminate compelling narratives that showcase the company's research, innovation, and impact. The role also involves serving as a senior advisor on reputation, issues management, and institutional positioning, and driving integrated storytelling to reinforce a unified identity. The successful candidate will be a trusted leader, fostering a high-performing communications culture, and ensuring that the company's voice reflects its commitment to scientific excellence, innovation, and stewardship. Applicants for the CCO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a preference for an advanced degree, and at least 15 years of leadership experience in strategic communications, public affairs, or related areas. The role requires a proven track record in designing and executing integrated communications strategies, advising senior executives, and managing crisis and emergency communications. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of modern communication practices, tools, and digital media, and the ability to operate effectively across complex stakeholder ecosystems. Strong leadership, organizational effectiveness, and team development skills are essential, as is the ability to balance diverse stakeholder needs and maintain institutional credibility. Experience in a science-driven, research, academic, or government environment is highly valued, and familiarity with data-informed communication approaches and emerging technologies, including AI, is a plus.
