Step into a rewarding contract position supporting elementary students in a cross-categorical resource program. This onsite opportunity is tailored for a passionate Special Education Teacher committed to empowering students with diverse learning needs. You’ll make a real difference, guiding young learners as they grow, develop new skills, and reach important educational milestones.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in a resource or cross-categorical program
- Solid understanding of IEPs, differentiated instruction, and behavioral interventions
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with families, staff, and support personnel
- Flexibility, patience, and a genuine dedication to individualized student success
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging instruction tailored to a variety of learning needs in a cross-categorical resource setting
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in close partnership with colleagues and families
- Utilize a range of instructional and behavioral strategies to foster academic, social, and emotional growth
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and records in compliance with regulations and district policies
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and ongoing professional development sessions
- Provide support and guidance to paraprofessionals and support staff within the classroom
This contract role is set to begin as soon as possible, with a structured schedule totaling 35 hours per week onsite. You’ll play a pivotal part in creating a supportive classroom environment, ensuring each child receives the attention and resources they need.
