Pay: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour

Express Employment Professionals is hiring an experienced and dependable Accounting Clerk in Wheeling, WV . This full-time opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), invoicing, order entry, purchasing, data entry, customer service, and general office administration .

The Accounting Clerk will support daily accounting and office operations while assisting customers, processing sales orders, coordinating vendor purchase orders, handling invoices and payments, and maintaining accurate accounting and customer records.

Accounting Clerk Job Responsibilities

• Answer incoming phone calls and provide professional customer service.
• Input customer sales orders accurately into the company system.
• Process customer purchase orders (POs) received through email, fax, phone calls, and web orders.
• Place purchase orders with vendors and follow orders through the purchasing process.
• Review vendor PO acknowledgements for accuracy and attach documentation to the appropriate records.
• Post accounts receivable (A/R) payments from customers.
• Prepare and make bank deposits .
• Complete customer invoicing and ensure invoices are processed accurately and on time.
• Enter and process accounts payable (A/P) invoices .
• File and maintain organized customer invoices and vendor purchase orders after processing.
• Assist with walk-in sales of safety products and provide excellent customer service.
• Monitor safety product inventory levels based on product usage.
• Communicate with customers and vendors regarding orders, invoices, payments, and product availability.
• Provide general accounting, administrative, purchasing, and office support as needed.

Accounting Clerk Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Accounting Clerk, Accounts Payable Clerk, Accounts Receivable Clerk, Bookkeeper, Office Administrator, or Administrative Assistant preferred.
• Experience with A/P, A/R, invoicing, order entry, purchasing, inventory, or data entry is highly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong computer and data entry skills.
• Professional telephone and customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and coworkers.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a busy office environment.
• Experience with accounting, ERP, order management, inventory, or business management software is a plus.
