Step into a dynamic school environment where your expertise in special education makes a daily difference. This full-time contract opportunity begins August 17 and extends through June 4, 2027, providing continuity and the chance to build meaningful relationships with students. Work predominantly with elementary students while also supporting some middle school learners, all within a collaborative and onsite-only setting near Des Plaines, IL.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid LBS1 Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Recent experience working as a Special Education Teacher in school settings
- Comfort with both elementary and middle school caseloads
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs
- Effective communicator with students, staff, and families
- Collaborative, flexible, and committed to inclusive education
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with various learning needs in accordance with IEP goals
- Create a supportive, engaging classroom environment that fosters growth and confidence
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and communicate openly with families about student development
- Comply with all state and federal regulations related to special education
- Contribute to a positive and professional culture within the school community
