Overview

We are seeking qualified and experienced Clinical Geneticists and Genetic Counselors to support a growing Genomic Care program. The selected professionals will provide specialized genetic evaluation, consultation, counseling, diagnosis, and care coordination for patients with suspected or confirmed genetic conditions.

Position 1: Clinical Geneticist

Job Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients with suspected or confirmed genetic and hereditary conditions.
• Conduct comprehensive clinical and family history assessments.
• Diagnose and manage inherited genetic disorders and genomic conditions.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate genetic and genomic testing.
• Develop individualized treatment and care plans based on genetic findings.
• Provide genetic consultation and recommendations to patients, families, and healthcare providers.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, genetic counselors, laboratory professionals, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Communicate complex genetic information clearly to patients and families.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and clinical care planning.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
• Stay current with developments in clinical genetics, genomic medicine, and genetic testing technologies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable clinical standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Medical degree from an accredited institution.
• Active and unrestricted medical license, as required for the position.
• Board certification or board eligibility in Clinical Genetics, Medical Genetics, or a related specialty.
• Experience diagnosing and managing genetic and hereditary disorders.
• Knowledge of genetic testing methodologies and interpretation of results.
• Strong clinical judgment and patient communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.

Position 2: Genetic Counselor

Job Responsibilities

• Provide genetic counseling to patients and families regarding inherited conditions and genetic testing.
• Obtain and analyze detailed personal and family medical histories.
• Assess the likelihood of hereditary or genetic conditions.
• Educate patients and families about genetic disorders, inheritance patterns, testing options, and potential outcomes.
• Coordinate appropriate genetic and genomic testing.
• Explain and interpret genetic test results under established clinical guidelines.
• Provide emotional support and resources to patients and families.
• Collaborate with Clinical Geneticists, physicians, laboratory personnel, and other healthcare professionals.
• Assist with the development of patient care and follow-up plans.
• Document patient consultations, assessments, and recommendations accurately.
• Maintain knowledge of advances in genetics, genomics, and genetic counseling practices.
• Adhere to ethical, legal, privacy, and professional standards.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Genetic Counseling or a related accredited program.
• Certification or eligibility for certification as a Genetic Counselor, as required by the applicable jurisdiction.
• Active state license, where required.
• Experience in clinical genetic counseling or genomic medicine preferred.
• Strong understanding of genetic testing and hereditary conditions.
• Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and communication skills.
• Ability to explain complex medical and genetic information in an understandable manner.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in clinical genetics or genomic medicine.
• Knowledge of hereditary disease and genetic testing.
