Job Title: RN Centralized Registry Float Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Med Surg (Medical Surgical) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: IN license or compact Certifications: BLS through AHA Must-Have: Candidate must have at least 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2 or tertiary experience. Candidate must have at least 1 year of experience in a facility with 450+ beds. Description: The position is for an RN in a centralized registry float role primarily focusing on medical surgical nursing care. Candidates will care for a diverse population of patients with varying diagnoses, including chronic illnesses such as COPD, Diabetes, CHF, and end-stage renal disease. They will also manage gastrointestinal issues, infections, neurological conditions, and patients with mental health disorders. Routine procedures include colonoscopies, thoracentesis, paracentesis, bronchoscopy, and minor surgeries. General job responsibilities involve assessments, care planning, and inter-professional communication. Proficiency in utilizing electronic health records and various medical equipment is necessary. Skills required include managing IV therapy, wound care, and administering medication drips. Floating to other medical units may be required in response to staffing needs. Shifts will include weekends and may involve patient ratios of 1:5-6. The dress code consists of Caribbean Blue scrubs. Candidates are expected to participate in orientation training that includes hospital and nursing specific programs. The position requires flexibility to float to other medical units as needed.
