About the Position

Job Title: RN - Progressive Care Unit Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 18 months of PCU RN experience License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with tracheostomies, cardiac drips, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, and management of central lines Description: The Progressive Care Unit requires skilled registered nurses. The unit has 32 beds and treats various patient types. Patients may present with conditions such as CHF, dysrhythmias, chest pain, strokes, abdominal issues, respiratory illnesses, diabetes, acute kidney injury/chronic kidney disease, alcohol withdrawal, and intravenous drug abuse. Patient nurse ratios typically range from 1:4 under standard conditions, possibly expanding to 1:5 based on patient acuity. Support staff includes charge nurses and phlebotomy services. Telemetry monitoring is available at the bedside and nurse's station. Nurses may float to different facilities within a designated region as needed. Weekend rotations and holiday work commitments are expected. Requests for time off will be considered, with certain limits in place. The unit promotes a family-oriented culture.
