Hospital Lab Technician II- Surgical Pathology Orange- FT Day Shift

Position Summary Reporting to the Clinical Laboratory Supervisor 2, the incumbent will pick up specimens, log specimens, load processors, sort multiple specimens, change processors, and organize supplies. The role includes printing labels and worksheets, washing plastic supplies, glassware and metal mold for blocks, assisting with equipment maintenance, inventory control, filing, and answering phones. The incumbent will process cytology specimens including GYN, Non-GYN, FNA, or histology samples, appropriately stain them, and maintain stainers. Additional duties may include transcription or other office tasks and assistance in the gross area. Required Qualifications Two years of applicable experience Minimum 16 units of applicable science (such as chemistry or biology) and algebra at the college level Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of medical computer software systems Total Rewards We offer a wealth of benefits to make working at UCI even more rewarding.
