Position Purpose

This role is essential in coordinating and implementing personalized care plans for patients, utilizing the nursing process, and adhering to the organization's policies, values, and mission.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties

• Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans tailored to individual assessments, optimizing outcomes and resource utilization.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and decisive judgment in a fast-paced environment, working with minimal supervision.
• Adhere to triage, treatment, evaluation, and documentation guidelines.
• Employ evidence-based practices and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality outcomes and efficient patient care coordination, including transitions and support needs.
• Recognize and address barriers to effective communication, considering psychosocial, literacy, financial, and cultural factors.
• Assess the learning needs of patients and families, providing education appropriate to their age, culture, and circumstances.
• Delegate patient care tasks effectively to ancillary personnel and may mentor student nurses and new hires.
• Uphold professional and ethical standards as guided by the ANA Code of Ethics and relevant nursing practice acts.
• Foster therapeutic relationships through caring attitudes while engaging in patient and family education as appropriate.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age (21 for roles requiring driving).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of a background check is required.
• Completion of a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test may be necessary.
• Attendance at an Employee Health meeting prior to the start of employment is required.

Education, Licensure, and Certification

• Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado or a Compact license (Required).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required; must be obtained within 90 days of hire).
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Required; must be obtained within 6 months of hire).
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification (Required; must be obtained within 1 year of hire).
• Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification (Required; must be obtained within 1 year of hire).
• Current STABLE certification (Required; must be obtained within 1 year of hire).
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (Required; must be obtained within 1 year of hire).
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field (Preferred).

Experience

• Two years of hospital nursing experience (Preferred).
• One year of Emergency Department (ED) or Critical Care Nursing experience (Preferred).
