Project Accounting Manager

Overview Role oversees accurate, contract‑compliant billing and financial management across a portfolio of client‑focused projects. Works in the Finance & Accounting department, reports to the Senior Project Accounting Manager, and supervises a Project Accountant while partnering with sector and shared services. Responsibilities Plan and execute project accounting and billing functions, including project setup in Deltek and contract management. Maintain accurate records, prepare client billings, manage accounts receivable, and finalize monthly invoices. Review AR and WIP, identify forecast issues, adjust budgets, and report variances. Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes. Provide training to managers on project financials and Deltek modules. Support process improvements and ensure compliance with company policies and financial metrics. Collaborate on system upgrades, payroll posting, and training material maintenance. Qualifications & Experience Required Experience: 5+ years of accounting leadership with a strong background in engineering accounting; experience with job costing, WIP reporting, and Deltek Vantagepoint or a large ERP accounting system. No QuickBooks experience. Strong integrity, attention to detail, and proactive mindset. Location Must be able to work on‑site in Fort Worth, Texas or Phoenix, Arizona for a minimum of three days per week. Salary Annual salary range: $43,000 - $55,000, depending on experience.
