Accounting Intern - Fall 2026

The Accounting Intern supports core accounting operations with a strong focus on accounts payable, including processing and routing invoices, reviewing expense reports, handling corporate card reimbursements, and performing general ledger reconciliations. The intern partners closely with AP, accounting specialists, and other teams on recurring tasks and special projects while demonstrating strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to member service. The position suits someone pursuing an accounting degree who can work both independently and within a team, adapts to change, and contributes to a positive and service‑driven environment. The MSUFCU Internship Program [ is designed to support interns in developing career readiness competencies as defined by NACE. Throughout the internship program, interns will gain hands-on experience and enhance essential skills that prepare them for success and career growth. Work Location: Hybrid (2-3 days onsite weekly); Headquarters campus in East Lansing, MI Work Schedule: Part-Time (15-25 hours) during MSUFCU business hours Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm. Paid Hourly Internship: $15.00+/hour Duration: Fall Semester beginning August 26th, with potential to continue into future semesters part-time. An offer of employment with MSU Federal Credit Union and affiliates is contingent upon the agreed work arrangement (onsite/hybrid/remote) and work location. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Verifies and posts transactions to journals, ledgers and other records/systems

• Prepares reports, statements, and invoices for processing
• Balances and reconciles general ledger accounts
• Assists with internal and external audits, and NCUA Examinations
• Assist in each accounting function including accounts payable, accounts

receivable, etc. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

Physical Demands and Work Environment: * May be required to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time. * Ability to operate standard office technology, equipment and tools, which may include many hours of computer and phone usage.

• Occasionally needs to move about inside of office area
• Exposure to potentially hazardous condition, i.e. robbery. Receives detailed
