Familia Dental is a big believer in internal growth, making it a great company to turn a job into a career.Benefits for Part-time Employees: Flex Time, 401K, financial advisors, on-demand pay (receive part of your check early)!Job PurposeTo assist the dentist effectively and efficiently in providing dental care to patients and to promote Familia Dental's culture and mission and values.ResponsibilitiesWelcome and escort patient in a professional and friendly manner from reception area to and from the treatment areas.Ensure treatment rooms are equipped and stocked with inventory and re-order when necessary.Take and record patient's medical and dental histories and vital signs, blood pressure & pulse.Document/chart all dental procedures performed during each patient visit per Dentist's instructions and legal requirements.Take and develop dental diagnostic x-rays.Pour and base diagnostic models and fabricate temporary restorations – as allowed by state law.Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials and assist Dentist during dental procedures.Effectively provide dental education and information to patients to ensure patient awareness of dental health, and oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling).Notify Office Manager of equipment trouble or general safety concernsAttend and participate in morning huddles, chart reviews and regular office meetings.Recognize and be sensitives to patients' emotionsUnderstand and follow company policy and proceduresUnderstand and follow state and federal laws related to a dental officeOther tasks as assigned.RequirementsQualifications/Skill SetsExceptional customer/patient service skillsExcellent verbal and written communication and listening skillsBasic computer knowledge and experience with dental management software experience. Denticon experience is preferred.Ability to work in fast paced, patient-focused environment.Detail oriented.Able to carry out written and verbal instructionsOrganizational and time management skillsAbility to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectivelyMeet state requirements for DA duties, continuing education, or license; Basic Life Support (BLS), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate, and radiography certificateDental assisting experience is preferred, but not required.Experience working within healthcare or related field strongly preferredAvailability / Schedule:Working hours between: M-F, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM and Sat, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PMPart time employment:2+ days a week, 29 hours or less per weekAvailable to work Saturdays, when neededMultiple half day shifts or fewer full day shifts
