Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Intermediate Neurosciences & ENT Progressive Care Unit position requiring NC or compact RN licensure and NIHSS certification.

Details

• 18-bed Intermediate Neurosciences & ENT unit, including 4 epilepsy monitoring beds
• Patient population includes stroke, tumors, epilepsy, spine injury, neuromuscular and neurodegenerative conditions, neurotrauma, CNS infections, and ENT malignancies
• Unit currently under a pilot program with a mixed step-down and acute care population, with assignments of up to 5 patients
• Day shift schedule from 7:00am to 7:00pm
• 36 hours per week over three 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• No on-call requirements
• May be required to serve in a charge or precepting role nearly every shift

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN required; BSN or MSN preferred
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
• Experience with charge nurse duties and precepting required
• Skilled in care of patients with complex problems, discharge planning, and prioritizing care

Additional Information

• Deliver competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in a hospital setting
• Coordinate and provide patient care utilizing the nursing process under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Participate in performance improvement activities and unit goal achievement
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure environment for patients and staff
• Work within a nationally recognized team delivering compassionate, collaborative care
