Work Environment

You will be working in our outpatient office located in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans aiming to prevent disability, relieve pain, and enhance muscle function, tailored to meet the unique capabilities of each client.
• Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) regarding the implementation of the treatment plan, ensuring best practices in patient care and adherence to state regulations.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of clients' functional levels through diagnostic tests and assessments, effectively identifying areas that require intervention.
• Assess the home environment as it relates to rehabilitation, providing recommendations to maximize your clients' independence while ensuring their safety.
• Deliver prescribed physical therapy services within the outpatient setting, including manual therapeutic exercises, traction, massage, and other modalities to facilitate recovery.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team during case conferences to develop and refine comprehensive treatment plans, consistently updating the care objectives in alignment with client needs.
• Maintain detailed clinical records, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring compliance with documentation requirements.
• Instruct clients and their families in the effective use of physical therapy modalities and exercises, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery.
• Proactively communicate with physicians and case managers about any changes in client conditions, offering insights for modifications to care strategies.
• Complete an on-site evaluation and reassessment of the clients as required, adjusting care plans based on ongoing assessments and feedback.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population primarily consists of individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and conditions that affect musculoskeletal health. You will work with a diverse clientele, including athletes, active seniors, and those recovering from acute injuries. Your role will be crucial in helping patients regain their physical autonomy and improve their overall well-being, making their rehabilitation journey a rewarding experience.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program is required.
• Current state licensure as a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) is mandatory.
• A minimum of two years' experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting is required, with demonstrated expertise in managing a variety of cases.
• Current CPR certification to ensure readiness for any emergency situations that may arise during patient care.

Preferred Experience

While two years of experience is required, candidates with specialized training in orthopedic therapy, manual therapy techniques, or advanced certifications are particularly encouraged to apply. Experience in a variety of therapeutic modalities and familiarity with electronic medical records will be advantageous.
