Ocean Adventure Pediatric Dentistry is currently looking for Dental Assistants to join our team.Ocean Adventure is seeking a Dental Assistant to work alongside our pediatric Dr.'s to provide both primary and comprehensive preventive and restorative care for infants, children and teens. If you are interested in joining an established and growing practice with a long tenured support team, joining Ocean Adventure is a great opportunity for you.Patient ManagementGreet patients when they sign in and monitor arrival timeSet up treatment rooms for proceduresEscort patients to treatment roomSeat patients in treatment roomsShow care and concern, and help patients feel comfortableObtain and review health histories according to office protocolEnsure patients are always attendedAnticipate and assist dentist's needsPerform expanded functions and other tasks as assigned by the dentistMix dental materialsEnsure patients' questions are answered thoroughly before they leaveChart patients and record date, service rendered and any chargesEscort patients from the treatment roomEnsure proper treatment notes are recorded in patient's chartPerform clinical procedures as practice act allows and as directed by dentistGive patient instruction and demonstrate when necessaryMonitor patient flowTreatment Room Management and SterilizationKeep dental units ready, stocked and cleanOversee cleanliness of the treatment room according to sterilization proceduresDisinfect treatment rooms according to OSHA regulationsSterilize all instruments and hand pieces according to OSHA regulationsKeep trays, instruments and treatment room drawers organizedEnsure that office sterilization procedures document is on displayPromptly send out and monitor all dental laboratory casesImplement the preventative maintenance/cleaning schedule for dental equipmentMaintain dental office emergency kits and nitrous and oxygen tanksFollow laboratory procedures according to office protocolRecords ManagementSecurely store and handle patient records in compliance with state and federal requirements, including HIPPA privacy and security regulations.Track cases and referrals to and from other doctorsInventory ManagementMonitor inventory and order dental office supplies as neededEnsure that treatment rooms are stocked at all timesQualificationsEducation/ExperienceRDA licenseCompliance with state dental practice requirements (i.e., X-ray requirements, OSHA training)Computer skillsInterpersonalGood interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentists, other staff members and communityEffective verbal skills to communicate with patients and staffWe offer a complete benefit package along with a positive work environment and an opportunity for growth.Job Type: Full-time - Compensation (31-54k yearly range based on hourly pay) depending on Experience Licensing and Education
