Health And Safety Coordinator (Alfred)

Check out our website to learn more: Functions of the Job Site Safety & Inspections: Conduct regular site visits, perform safety inspections, identify risks, and recommend and implement safety improvements and controls. Training & Coaching: Coordinate and deliver safety training programs, audit employee certifications and ensure compliance, and support new hire onboarding and ongoing training needs. Incident Investigation & Reporting: Lead incident investigations and root‑cause analyses, prepare reports and recommend corrective actions, and assist with WSIB documentation and return‑to‑work coordination. Compliance & Program Management: Ensure compliance with OHSA, MOL, WSIB, and other regulations; develop and update company safety policies and procedures; and participate in Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings. Subcontractor & Project Support: Review subcontractor safety programs and qualifications, and prepare project‑specific safety plans for clients and sites. Continuous Improvement: Maintain emergency response plans, stay current with legislative changes, and contribute to internal safety communications. Ideal Candidate Post‑secondary diploma or degree in Health & Safety or related field. 2–3 years of experience in construction or a similar industry. Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) certification – an asset. Familiarity with Certificate of Recognition (COR) program – an asset. Elevated Work Platform & Lift Truck Trainer the Trainer – an asset. Worker at Heights Instructor – an asset. Valid First Aid & CPR certification – an asset.
