Scope of Position

Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead plant maintenance operations and help drive safety, reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement across our manufacturing facility.

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall direction and coordination of plant maintenance activities, partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, Safety, Quality, and other departments to ensure equipment and systems operate safely and reliably.

This role is instrumental in supporting the production of high-quality products while meeting cost, customer service, and plant performance objectives.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, results-oriented leader with strong manufacturing maintenance experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and a demonstrated ability to develop teams and improve equipment performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all plant maintenance activities to support safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations.
• Promote and enforce all established safety, health, quality, GMP, and company policies, procedures, and recognized practices.
• Build a strong safety and accountability culture within the maintenance organization.
• Participate in plant staff, operational planning, shift, and safety meetings.
• Conduct regular departmental meetings and provide training based on team and operational needs.
• Develop and implement maintenance methods, procedures, and improvement initiatives that increase manufacturing efficiency, improve equipment reliability, and reduce operating costs.
• Partner closely with Engineering to evaluate and implement improvements to plant machinery, equipment, and systems.
• Investigate equipment failures and breakdowns, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive solutions to reduce recurring issues and unplanned downtime.
• Develop, manage, and control the maintenance budget, ensuring effective use of resources and identifying opportunities to eliminate unnecessary or repetitive costs.
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance strategies designed to maximize equipment availability and plant performance.
• Lead the selection, training, coaching, and development of maintenance personnel to achieve departmental and plant objectives.
• Establish priorities and effectively allocate maintenance resources based on production and business needs.
• Build productive working relationships with vendors, contractors, plant visitors, and internal business partners.
• Lead or participate in special projects involving maintenance, engineering, operations, or other functional areas.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required to support plant objectives.
• Travel: Approximately 0–25% travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Minimum of five years of maintenance supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including the ability to coach, develop, and motivate maintenance teams.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment, maintenance practices, troubleshooting, and equipment reliability.
• Experience identifying root causes of equipment failures and implementing sustainable corrective actions.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing operational demands.
• Comfortable using computers and standard business and maintenance-related software.
