Counter Terrorism/International Terrorism Analyst

Amentum is looking for a Counter terrorism/International terrorism Analyst who will support law enforcement investigations and manage an analytic portfolio focused on matters pertaining to terrorism, violent extremism, threats to life and property, and other relevant homeland security matters. This position operates within a fast-paced team environment and demands substantial attention to detail; exceptional analytical skills; strong writing, briefing and communication skills; proactive work ethic; knowledge of database structure, data query syntax and data analysis tools; strong information coordination skills; and the capability to collaborate in a team environment. Strong competency navigating the Internet, to include open source/social media content providers and platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include the collection, review, collation, analysis, preparation and dissemination of data, information, and sensitive intelligence to/from Federal, state, and local law enforcement, public safety, and other partners, to include private sector security. Researching various documents, reports, raw data, and internet-based material, applying structure analytic techniques, and summarizing results for inclusion in assessments, reports, and presentations. Utilizing various software technologies, to include email, word processing and report publishing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation programs; as well as geospatial analysis (GIS mapping), social network analysis (SNA) and link analysis platforms. Communicating, coordinating, and collaborating with internal colleagues and external professional partners, verbally and in written form. Complying with all appropriate federal, state, and local legal, policy, and regulatory requirements as they pertain to criminal intelligence, law enforcement data access and data sharing, and applying sound professional judgment to ensure the protection of privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties. Capable of utilizing analytic software with minimum training, writing/publishing analytic reports/assessments with minimum guidance and independently providing tactical analysis and investigative case support to law enforcement field operations.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma/GED Minimum
• Relevant Experience: Nine (9) years’ experience with a high school diploma/GED or four (4) years’ experience with a bachelor’s degree or two (2) years’ experience with a master’s degree
• Candidates are required to pass a background check, to include a drug test, with the Boston Police Department as a condition of employment and must be able to obtain and maintain a national security clearance at the Secret level. Please note; US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties issues as they pertain to the intelligence cycle within local law enforcement and an intelligence fusion center environment
• Strong understanding of the National Threat Evaluation and Reporting (NTER) Program and the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) Initiative (NSI)
• Experience working in a command center environment supporting intelligence requirements for critical incidents and major special events
• Ability to work well within a team environment
• Ability to maintain focus under pressure
• Analytic experience within in a local, state, or federal law enforcement agency and/or state/major urban area fusion center
• Subject matter expertise in matters pertaining to international terrorism, domestic terrorism, and/or various forms of violent extremism
• Strong knowledge of both international and domestic (U.S.) affairs as they pertain to the current threat environment
• Strong writing and briefing skills
• Experience writing intelligence assessments for intelligence community or law enforcement consumers
• Experience performing tactical intelligence analysis in support of criminal investigations

This position is performed in a traditional office environment.

ABOUT THE BRIC

The BRIC is staffed and managed by the Boston Police Department’s Bureau of Intelligence & Analysis. As a major urban area fusion center, the mission of the BRIC is to reduce crime and prevent acts of terrorism throughout the Metro Boston Homeland Security Region by serving as the central point for the collection, synthesis, analysis, and dissemination of strategic and tactical intelligence to law enforcement, intelligence, first responder, and private sector partners; and to assist the Federal Government as a partner for national security.

Compensation Details:

$80,000-$90,000
