- Role Overview: Registered Nurses provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Core Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment & Monitoring: Perform detailed, timely assessments and monitor patient conditions.
- Care Planning: Develop and implement individualized care plans, collaborating with physicians and healthcare professionals.
- Administration: Administer medications, treatments, and perform diagnostic tests.
- Patient/Family Education: Provide education regarding illnesses, treatments, and preventative health measures.
- Advocacy & Support: Offer emotional support, act as a patient advocate, and ensure compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely medical records.
- Job Requirements:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing).
- Licensure: Active, unencumbered RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia (or compact state).
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital setting is preferred, though new graduates are encouraged to apply for residency programs.
- Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support) is required.
