Registered Nurse Telemetry

The Registered Nurse in Telemetry is responsible for providing skilled nursing care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring, including those with ventilators and tracheostomies. The role involves patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Nurses must be experienced in managing ventilated patients and tracheostomy care, with strong communication and teamwork skills. This position requires flexibility to float between medical-surgical units and adherence to established patient-to-nurse ratios. Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care to telemetry patients, including ventilated and tracheostomy patients.
• Perform patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Manage patient care ratios of approximately 1:4.
• Float between telemetry and medical-surgical units as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech charting system.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures for acute care settings.

• Minimum of 1 year nursing experience; first-time nurses accepted.
• Experience with ventilated patients and tracheostomy management is mandatory.
• Active Registered Nurse license valid in the state of practice.
• Current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications.
• Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills.
• Ability to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team.
• Driver's license and ability to work within a 50-mile radius.

• Experience working in acute care hospital environments.
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic health record system.
• Prior experience in medical-surgical and telemetry units.

• No on-call requirements.
• Floating between Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance and other units may be required.
• Facility provides free parking.
• Scrub color is flexible; any color allowed.
• RTO (Return to Office) restrictions must be included at time of submission.
• Facility may call off once per two-week pay period.

• Shift assignments and block schedules are at manager's discretion.
• Weekend work required every other weekend.
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4.
