Job Details – Location: 401 Kenilworth Drive Suite 810, Petaluma, CA 94952. Salary Range: $19.00 - $28.38 hourly. Department Manager Job Purpose Heart of House Department Manager has primary responsibility for the Heart of House (HOH) area, is responsible for managing all food/product matters in the HOH area, HOH staff planning and HOH Team Member development. They must maintain a safe environment and improve bottom line profitability through appropriate revenue and labor management. The Heart of House Manager assists the General Manager with overseeing the operation of the entire restaurant. In addition to supervising the operation of the restaurant on a shift-by-shift basis. Bar Department Manager supervises the operation of the restaurant on a shift-by-shift basis, with primary responsibility for the Bar Department. The Bar Department Manager manages all adult beverage matters in the Bar Department including ordering of beer, wine and liquor, inventory control and Responsible Alcohol Service (RAS) compliance. The Bar Department Manager is responsible for the planning, hiring, training, development and motivation of the Bartenders and Bar Servers in the Bar Department. Must maintain a safe environment and improve bottom line profitability through appropriate revenue management. The Hospitality Manager supervises the operation of the restaurant on a shift-by-shift basis, with primary responsibility for the dining room service. Manages hospitality Team Member planning and Team Member development and maintains a safe environment. Department Manager Responsibilities Directly responsible for staffing, succession planning, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, orientation, training and ongoing development of Department Team Members to maintain a department team above staffing guidelines. Responsible for WCT training in the department and maintaining the department at training store certification. Develops direct reports by creating action/development plans when necessary. Coordinates with other Department Managers on hiring decisions to ensure growth opportunities exist for Team Members. Creates weekly department schedules within budgeted labor guidelines, balancing team member needs and business needs. Creates, develops and implements incentive programs and contests for the department. Actively motivates Team Members to participate in all company promotions and incentives. Responsible for providing regular performance feedback, including timely performance appraisals and development of the department. Administers semi-annual merit increase process. Assists General Manager with coaching other managers on effective performance management procedures and ongoing performance management and development of Bar, Hospitality and Assistant Managers. Utilizes World Wide Wings support teams/subject matter experts when necessary or required. Provides coaching and follow up to direct reports to ensure execution of service standards and guest experience. Communicates effectively to direct reports by holding departmental meetings on a timely basis and communicating successes, new procedures, and areas of opportunity. Ensures all department Team Members have current state required training and permits. Actively looks for and identifies techniques to attract new guests. Responsible for the restaurant’s Guest Comment program. Handles food quality complaints appropriately and provides feedback to managers on methods for handling them. Utilizes Guest Experience Management (GEM) program to provide feedback to Team Members and makes necessary adjustments to ensure overall guest satisfaction. Quality Operations Heart of House Department Manager – facilitates and ensures adherence to new food product rollouts; ensures Team Members meet or exceed quality standards for serving products, recipe adherence and portioning; communicates with food vendors and holds them accountable for delivering high‑quality product on time; ensures menu specs, wall charts and department systems are used and adhered to; communicates opportunities to the department and management team; helps general manager coach on quality, service and cleanliness standards and inventory levels; analyzes performance tools (GEM, QSCs, audits, P&L) and troubleshoots; performs administrative manager functions; monitors equipment; reports repair needs; operates consistently with Board of Health and food safety practices; corrects BOH and Steritech issues immediately; facilitates bar product/promotion rollouts; communicates with beer and alcohol vendors; ensures bar systems are used and adhered to; communicates opportunities to Bartenders and Bar Servers. Bar Department Manager – understands and analyzes performance tools; creates action plans for issues; follows up with Bartenders & Bar Servers; performs administrative manager functions; monitors bar equipment for quality. Sales and Profit Heart of House Department Manager – responsible for overall food cost, operating within defined variance; responsible for overall HOH labor results; orders food products; maintains inventory; establishes projections; understands P&L and creates action plans; completes assigned duties. Bar Department Manager – ensures bar cost tools are used; responsible for beer, liquor, beverage costs and bar labor results; maintains inventory of alcohol; understands sales and profit goals and troubleshoots; aggressively manages waste, comps, voids and discounts; creates incentive contests. Hospitality Manager – assists General Manager with local restaurant marketing; creates incentive contests; completes assigned duties. Equipment and Tools Use of all restaurant equipment including headsets, fryers, ovens, microwave, dishwasher, grills and broilers, Bunn hot water dispensers, cash registers, cleaning supplies, computer peripherals, registers, monitors, calculators, fax machine, copy machine, telephone and credit card machine. Maintenance includes unclogging toilets, relighting water heaters, etc. Environmental Factors Fast paced work environment inside the restaurant around food prep and cooking equipment (hot & cold). May need to be outside for property inspections. Requires frequent hands in water for washing, rinsing. Some cleaning/maintenance outdoors in various weather. Ability to work irregular hours, nights, weekends, holidays. Requires being on-call 24 hours a day and working 50 hours per week. Qualifications High motivation, self‑directed, results‑driven with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, professional written and verbal communication. Desire to create a fun, exciting environment for guests and team members. Basic mathematical computation skills. Track record of successfully managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to maintain confidential information and enforce company policies and compliance. Minimum 2 years restaurant or retail management experience, preferably in a restaurant with a full bar. High school education or equivalent, valid driver's license, satisfactory background check, ability to lift 50 pounds. Completion of Buffalo Wild Wings Management Certification program.
