Position Overview: The Account Services Clerk - A/R is responsible for processing accounts receivable transactions, including posting payments, reconciling customer accounts, and resolving billing issues in accordance with company policies. This position plays a key role in ensuring timely and accurate cash application and effective customer communication, utilizing the Hardinge Inc. ERP system, currently JD Edwards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process incoming customer payments via check, ACH, and wire transfer.
• Apply payments accurately to customer accounts and invoices.
• Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due accounts.
• Communicate with customers regarding invoice discrepancies or payment issues.
• Research and resolve short payments, chargebacks, and unapplied cash.
• Issue credit memos and customer statements as necessary.
• Coordinate with sales and customer service teams to resolve billing concerns.
• Assist with audits and internal reporting as requested.
• Complete other projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma required; Associate Degree in a related field preferred.
• Skills & Requirements: One to three years of experience in an accounting or finance setting preferred. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with an ERP system required; JD Edwards experience preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication skills, especially in a customer-facing capacity. Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
