Banquet Attendant/Server (On-Call)

This position is primarily responsible for assisting the banquet department with special events, including guest interaction, and may include cash handling.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:

• Set up the banquet room for special events. This includes table settings, linens, buffet tables, and polishing/placement of utensils and serving platters. Decorate the room as requested by the guest, i.e., wedding favors, chair sashes, and pre-filled drinks. Break down, clean, and vacuum the ballroom at the completion of the event.
• Interact and serve guests with hors d’oeuvres, refilling drinks, and constantly clearing tables from used dishes in preparation for the next course. Assisting with buffet lines to ensure guest satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• 6 months to one year of relevant experience serving
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Available on-call for weddings/events on weekends and holidays (schedule given 3 weeks in advance)
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English
• Anticipate customer needs and maintain excellent guest service
• Ability to follow prescribed procedures and guidelines in accomplishing tasks as described above
• Ability to be self-directed
• Skill in attention to detail

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• ServeSafe certified and/or other state alcohol commission a plus (the company will provide training)
