Job Description As a Security Officer Screening Specialist in Front Royal, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener at a government location, you will help monitor entry points, perform screening procedures, and support access control while providing outstanding customer service and clear communication. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $21.00 / Hour Job Schedule: Mon 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM Tue 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM Wed 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM Thur 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM Fri 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM What You’ll Do: Provide customer service to visitors, vendors, and personnel by carrying out security‑related screening procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location. Screen individuals, personal belongings, packages, and/or vehicles entering restricted or controlled areas in accordance with post orders and applicable screening protocols. Monitor access points, verify identification and credentials, and report unauthorized or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel in a calm, problem‑solving manner. Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations with professionalism, documenting observations and actions taken according to site requirements. Conduct regular and random patrols around screening areas, entry points, and perimeter locations to help support security‑related operations and identify unusual conditions. Minimum Requirements: Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred. Customer service experience is preferred. CPR and/or First Aid is preferred. Access control and/or badge experience is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
