Job Summary

The Clinical Documentation Specialist is responsible for evaluating and improving clinical documentation to ensure accurate representation of patient severity, support compliant coding practices, and enhance overall data integrity and reimbursement outcomes.

What You’ll Do

• Review clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and clinical validity
• Partner with providers to improve documentation practices
• Identify documentation gaps and initiate compliant queries
• Support accurate DRG assignment and coding outcomes
• Ensure adherence to AHIMA/ACDIS guidelines and regulatory standard
• Maintain accurate workflow documentation and reporting

Qualifications

• RN required; CCDS or CDIP preferred
• Minimum 5 years inpatient CDI experience
• Strong clinical knowledge and documentation expertise
• Experience with EHR systems (Epic, Meditech)
• Strong communication and analytical skills
