MIG TIG Welder

Our client company's engineers and project managers have the knowledge and experience to design and manage your project that will meet and exceed expectations of quality and on time service. They have a variety of CNC machines and tooling to accomplish most custom metal projects. The company is equipped to handle all aspects of a project in-house to ensure promptness and quality. Their cutting, punching, bending and shaping machines allow them to make designs accurate and appealing. They weld, paint and assemble their products in their brand new facility. For electrical requirements the organization has a highly trained staff of wiring personnel with years of experience wiring relay and control panels for the utility industry. They continually strive to improve their processes to meet the needs of their valued customers.
The company has an immediate need for MIG/TIG welders on a contract to direct hire basis with benefits.
SUMMARY: A Welder/Fabricator is responsible for interpreting a drawing into a finished product by means of prepping, cleaning, tacking, welding and finishing. The person in this position must be able to work with small or large pieces, fabricate and weld to a drawing meeting +/- .030 tolerance and delivering a clean part.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Weld using TIG and MIG processes.
Interpret drawings and measurements to plan layouts.
Weld small and large components.
Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors.
Able to set up welding machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
Prepare metal surfaces by grinding, cleaning with chemical solutions and wire brushes to remove impurities such as scale, rust, grease, and moisture
Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
Determining appropriate welding tools and equipment based on the requirements
Other duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
Experience welding steel, stainless and aluminum parts preferrable
A minimum of 2 years' experience as a welder.
Excellent knowledge of welding machinery, electrical equipment, and manual and power tools.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
Outstanding attention to detail.
Ability to fit and weld pieces using best fabrication practices
Strong oral communication skills
Must be able to read a tape measure
Ability to work M-Thurs 530-4p
