Labor & Delivery - Registered Nurse

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Labor & Delivery for a temporary assignment in Rockford, Illinois. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a Labor & Delivery:

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws/practice act
• Document according to standards of care
• Develop, initiate, and execute a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance
• Utilize clinical expertise to provide guidance to other units/departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care
• Utilize critical thinking in regards to patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalate to the appropriate chain of command
• Maintain current IL License, CPR, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification is required
• High-risk labor and delivery experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center is required
