About the RoleAmerican Stone is hiring an experienced Local Class A CDL Driver to support our quarry, yard, and delivery operations in the Burley/Oakley area, including Cotton Thomas, Fish Creek, and surrounding locations.Pay: $28–$30 per hour, depending on relevant experience and qualifications.This is not a city-only or no-touch freight position. Drivers regularly operate loaded commercial vehicles on steep grades, rugged unpaved mountain and quarry roads, remote job sites, paved county roads, and highways.Drivers should expect:Steep grades and rugged routesUnpaved mountain and quarry roadsRemote quarry and job-site conditionsDust, mud, snow, ice, and changing weatherLoaded driving on paved and unpaved roadsLimited services or cell coverage in some remote areasRegular use of straps, chains, and load-securement equipmentThe right candidate will have professional experience in mountain, off-road, mining, logging, oilfield, construction, agricultural, or similar driving conditions. We are looking for someone who remains calm, controlled, and safety-focused while operating loaded commercial vehicles in challenging terrain.Depending on the assignment, the driver may operate flatbeds, dump trucks, side dumps, or end dumps. This is a hands-on role that includes inspecting vehicles, securing loads, assisting with loading, transporting stone, and unloading materials.ResponsibilitiesYour responsibilities include:Deliver stone products to customers, contractors, job sites, store locations, yards, and quarriesSafely drive on steep grades, mountain roads, rugged unpaved quarry roads, and off-road job sitesLoad, secure, transport, and unload materials using appropriate equipmentOperate flatbed and dump trucks in compliance with safety standardsComplete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance concernsMaintain accurate delivery records, driver logs, and required documentationFollow DOT regulations, company safety policies, and assigned routesAssist with loading and yard operations when neededProvide professional customer service during deliveriesProperly secure loads using straps, chains, and other required equipmentQualificationsRequiredValid Class A CDL and current DOT Medical CardNo automatic-transmission-only restrictionProfessional experience driving on steep grades, mountain roads, and rugged off-road job sitesAbility to safely operate loaded commercial vehicles and secure loads using straps and chainsComfortable chaining up and driving with chains when requiredAcceptable driving recordAbility to pass the required pre-employment dr*g screening and meet FMCSA Clearinghouse requirementsAbility to perform hands-on physical work and work outdoors in changing weather conditionsDependable, safety-focused, and professionalPreferredExperience operating flatbeds, dump trucks, side dumps, or end dumpsQuarry, mining, logging, oilfield, construction, or agricultural driving experienceLoader or forklift experienceExperience delivering stone, landscaping, construction, or building materialsSpanish is a plusScheduleTypical schedule is Monday through Friday during business hours.
